History:

The Holy Trinity Greek School of London has been in existence for over 50 years.  In the early years, the school was held in the church basement and all the classes were taught by the parish priest.  Under the leadership of the late Mr. Bill Vagenas and later of Mrs. Meni Sakellis, the school increased in size and in number of classes.  Consequently, it was moved to public facilities.  Presently, the school is governed by the Education Committee of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Community, under the direction of the London and District Catholic School Board.  The principal is Mr. Steve Eleftheroglou and the school is located at St. Martin's School,  140 Duchess Ave.  Funding for the school is provided by the Federal and Provincial governments, and by the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Community, via the Education Committee.

Our school has about 250 students and we offer classes from the Junior kindergarten level and grades nine, ten, eleven, and twelve in the secondary level.  In addition, our school has one adult class for fiends of our culture and language.  Classes run every Saturday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm during the regular school year.

Over the past few years, some organizational, curriculum, and staffing changes have been made to the school in order to meet the needs of our students.  As our population structure changes, the need of individualized instruction for children with little or no Greek has been increased.  The second and third generation of Greeks will challenge the Greek school in many areas.  We are proud of the many positive changes we have instituted, so far, and we will continue to strive for improvement on all fronts, as we look confidently into the 21st century.
